PHILOSOPHY

We believe that Playschool should be a happy and positive experience, which will give the child a good social and educational foundation in these early childhood years. Our goal is to help each child develop in his or her own special way by building self-confidence and helping him or her to discover his or her own interests and abilities. Each child is different and we strive to recognize these differences.

The teachers feel that open communication is important to success. We recognize that parents are their child’s first teachers. Through parent-teacher cooperation, we try to work together to form a good relationship with the families. We strive to keep parents up-to-date on everything that is happening in the classroom.

An important aspect of our program is play. A safe and creative experience will help each child grow socially, emotionally, and academically as well as physically. Our program includes art, songs and games, science, language skill activities, and opportunities for gross and fine motor development.

The CT State Dept. of Education, Pre-school Curriculum Framework and Benchmarks for Children in Pre-school Programs is the source for our curriculum.
